Dash Games, Disco Turkeys, and Family Fun in the Piedmont Triad

Hey Piedmont Triad mamas! If your family is anything like mine, you’ve probably got a soft spot for a good baseball game. For years, my crew and I have been piling into the car to cheer on the Winston-Salem Dash at Truist Stadium—and it’s a blast every single time.  So when I heard the Dash are rolling out some major stadium upgrades for the 2025 season, I couldn’t wait to spill the details for all you fellow moms out there planning family fun. I’ll be tossing in some of my favorite Dash game pics from over the years too—because if there’s one thing we love, it’s making memories with our kiddos at the ballpark!

This isn’t one of our usual freebie events here at Piedmont Triad Living (we know you love those!), but if you’ve got a little room in the budget, this is shaping up to be a home run for a family night out.  The Dash have been our hometown heroes since they landed in Winston-Salem back in 2009—remember when we celebrated their 10th season? (Peep our throwback post here for a little trip down memory lane.) With new owners Diamond Baseball Holdings stepping up, they’re making Truist Stadium even better for 2025. Think of it as the perfect excuse to round up the fam and soak in some summer vibes.

​What’s New at Truist Stadium?

​Picture this: you’re at the ballpark, the sun’s setting, the kids are munching on snacks, and you’re actually relaxed because the experience feels fresh and fun. Here’s what the Dash are bringing to the table in 2025:

• Lowes Foods Landing: A fancy new group seating spot down the left field line! It’s got killer views and easy access to grub. 
• Dash Delights Concession Stand: Right by the Landing, this new food stop is dishing out over 10 unique eats, including loaded potato skins, deep fried uncrustables, fried pickles, walking tacos, cannoli nachos, deep fried oreos, and Italian Beef sandwiches.  No more arguing over who gets the last soggy fry!
• Bigger, Better Video Board: The old board was fine, but this new one? It’s bigger, brighter, and ready to keep everyone entertained with replays, stats, and those silly between-inning games the kids love. The upgraded video board’s going to make every replay and silly fan cam moment pop—those little touches that make a Dash night feel so special.

​Promo Nights We Can’t Wait For

The Dash always bring the fun with their theme nights, and 2025’s lineup is no exception. Here are a few I’m circling on my calendar (check the full scoop here):

• Pint Glass Tuesdays: Every Tuesday, the first 250 fans score a free Winston-Salem pint glass for the Dash’s 15th anniversary. I’m already plotting how cute these’ll look on my kitchen shelf!
• Fireworks Fridays: Nothing beats watching fireworks light up the sky with my kiddos oohing and aahing. These nights are a summer tradition we can’t skip.
• Rebrand Nights: The Dash are switching it up with cool alternate identities like El Humo de Winston-Salem (shoutout to our Hispanic community!) and Winston-Salem Hooch Pooches (a nod to Prohibition-era Chicago). The themed jerseys and merch are always a hit with my crew.

Tickets: Worth the Splurge?

​Okay, let’s talk tickets. Unlike the free community events we usually spotlight, a night at Truist Stadium does come with a cost. Single-game tickets typically start around $10-$15 for general admission, with premium seats like the Lowes Foods Landing running a bit higher (think $20-$30 depending on the game and perks). Kids’ tickets are often discounted, and there are family packages if you’re bringing the whole crew. You can snag them online at milb.com/winston-salem once the season schedule drops.

​Is it free? Nope. But is it a blast for the family if you’ve got some wiggle room in the budget? Absolutely! Between the upgraded stadium vibes, tasty new eats, and those promo nights, it’s a chance to make a summer evening feel like a mini-vacation. Plus, with 66 home games from April to September, you’ve got plenty of chances to find a night that works for your busy mom schedule.

Parking at Truist Stadium also costs, but you can find free parking downtown after 6pm and take the free shuttle from designated pick-up spots to the baseball field. This is a great way to avoid the stadium traffic and avoid parking fees.  Here's more info about the Downtown Dash Shuttle. ​

​Why We’re Dash Superfans

​For us in the Piedmont Triad, the Dash are more than just a baseball team—they’re a community vibe.  We even surprised my girls and their friend on their birthday with a jumbotron announcement in 2022! We love hanging out for some good baseball and good fun.

​The 2025 season officially kicks off on April 8th against the Greensboro Grasshoppers, and with these upgrades, it’s clear they’re here to keep us coming back. 

Equally Fun and a Little Cheaper - the Carolina Disco Turkeys!

​Oh, and speaking of baseball love, we can’t get enough of the Carolina Disco Turkeys! Alongside our Dash devotion, my family’s been grooving to the funky vibes of this summer league team for years. Playing at Wake Forest University’s Couch Ballpark, the Disco Turkeys bring a wild, colorful energy that’s impossible not to adore—think outrageous uniforms, a mascot named Boogie, and a whole lot of heart. Tickets are just $10 each (kids in youth baseball or softball jerseys even get in free!), and parking’s on the house, making it a wallet-friendly alternative for a night of family fun. They’ve just announced all their 2025 home games will be at Couch Ballpark (check it out here), and we’re already counting down to catch them strut their stuff again!
