The second week of December is one of the most magical stretches of the season—lights everywhere, small-town parades rolling down Main Streets, and local markets in full holiday mode. Whether you’re planning a family outing, looking for something festive between classes or shifts, or just want to ease into the season without spending a dollar, this week has something for everyone. And if your plans take you to Downtown Winston-Salem, there’s a little extra gift: on-street parking is free for the entire holiday season—now through January 2, 2026. 🚗✨ City-owned decks and lots still charge $1/hr, but street parking makes it especially easy to support local shops, grab a coffee, and enjoy the holiday atmosphere without worrying about the meter. Here’s what’s happening across the Piedmont Triad this week:  🎄 Friday, December 12Kernersville Arts & Crafts Guild Annual Christmas Store Kernersville | 10am–6pm This community-run holiday shop is a perfect stop for anyone who loves handcrafted gifts. It’s relaxed, local, and a nice alternative to the big-box holiday rush. Winter WonderPark: Sound of the Season High Point City Lake Park | 4–8pm Lights, music, and that small-town holiday feeling by the water. It’s a gentle way to slide into the weekend. Downtown Graham Ice Skating Rink Graham | 5–7:45pm A cozy small-town skating rink that feels like a movie set. Skates are provided, and the experience is charmingly simple. Hayride & Christmas Light Tour Mayodan | 5–7pm A free hayride through town to see the lights—easy, nostalgic, and perfect for families who want to slow down and enjoy the season. Winter Wonder Woods High Point | 5:30–7:30pm A glowing forest walk that’s become a seasonal favorite for families on the west side of the Triad. Christmas on Sunset Asheboro | 6–9pm A street festival with live music, vendors, and that festive downtown energy that feels like the start of the holidays. Christmas Movie Night Greensboro | 7–9pm Bundle up and bring a blanket—holiday movies just hit differently in December. Merry & Bright: Heart of the Triad Choral Society High Point | 7–8pm A free concert by a beloved local choral group. Classic Christmas harmonies in a beautiful space. 🎁 Saturday, December 13This is one of the biggest free-event days of the season—markets, parades, concerts, and more from dawn to dusk. ChristmasFest 2025 & Annual Holiday Concert Old Salem, Winston-Salem | 10am–5pm Old Salem truly shines this time of year. Walk the historic streets, enjoy holiday demonstrations, and catch the free morning concert at 10am. Yuletide Celebration & Night Market Kernersville | Day Market 10am–4pm | Night Market 5–9pm A full-day experience with shopping, music, and small-town charm.
