​It’s been quite a week — and I’ll be honest with you, I haven’t had time to get fancy about it. But that’s not what Piedmont Triad Living is about anyway.

I’m just a mom. I don’t have a camera crew or a budget for slick videos. What I do have is heart — and a whole lot of time spent digging every single day to find the best free things to do for families all across the Piedmont Triad.

Every event listed on our calendar has free admission. You might find local vendors or food trucks selling goodies (because who doesn’t love a funnel cake or handmade soap?), but if you just want to show up and enjoy the fun — you can.

This week, our calendar has more than 60 free events happening across Alamance, Forsyth, Guilford, Randolph, Davie, Davidson, Rockingham, and Surry Counties — everything from pumpkin festivals and Trunk-or-Treats to live music, farmers markets, and fall celebrations that fill our small towns with laughter and color.

I’ve been sharing free family events for 15 years now, and while my youngest is nearly grown, I’m not going anywhere. This is my community — our community — and I’ll keep doing what I’ve always done: finding ways for families to spend time together without spending money.

So grab your calendar, scroll through this week’s listings, and pick something new to explore. Whether it’s the NASCAR Day Festival in Randleman, Fall Fest in Graham, or the Big Backyard Movie Night in Winston-Salem, there’s something every single day to make a memory.

Because here’s the truth: it doesn’t have to be fancy to be fun.

And it doesn’t have to cost a dime to make a weekend you’ll never forget.
