Located in North Carolina, the Piedmont Triad is halfway between New York and Florida, and halfway between Washington DC and Atlanta GA.
The Piedmont lies between the Appalachian Mountains and the Atlantic Ocean, and the Triad is named for the three largest cities in our region: Greensboro, Winston-Salem and High Point. Our region is comprised of twelve counties and 1.7 million people. This is home. Why It's Called the Piedmont Triad The name "Piedmont Triad" reflects both the geography and community connections of our region. "Piedmont" describes the plateau between the Atlantic Coastal Plain and the Appalachian Mountains—right where our area sits in central North Carolina. "Triad" refers to the region’s three major cities—Greensboro, Winston-Salem, and High Point—which together form a vibrant hub of culture, commerce, and community. The name speaks to the shared identity and strong ties that unite these cities at the heart of the region. Piedmont Triad Living Connecting Families, Celebrating Community |
