It's the most wonderful time of the year – Christmas time! With the holidays just around the corner, it's time to start planning your festivities. If you're looking for a great way to celebrate the season, why not check out some of the amazing free Christmas light displays in the Piedmont Triad? From Elkin to Graham to Climax to Mt Airy and everywhere in between, the Piedmont Triad area has some of the most spectacular holiday light displays in the state.

All of the displays listed on our map are private homes or neighborhoods that really go all out with their Christmas spirit!  (The only exception is the display at High Point University, which is included because it is free!) Click on the red icon for the address and additional information.  If there is music, the FM station to listen is also included.

The Piedmont Triad is also home to several large light shows for which there is paid admission (such as Tanglewood Festival of Lights in Clemmons and Winter Wonderlights at the Greensboro Science Center), but if your family just wants to go for a ride to enjoy the lights, easily map your path with our map below.

Maple Ridge Lights has been part of the Tacky Light Tour since 2015.  Hours are 5:30-11:00 on weekends and 5:30-10:30 on weeknights.  Park on the OPPOSITE side of the road (NOT directly in front of the display). Please don't block driveways. Please turn off headlights while watching the lights, and please keep volume levels at a reasonable level. We want to keep our neighbors happy.

The Piedmont Triad is a beautiful region in North Carolina full of vibrant culture and traditions. One of the most popular traditions is the lovefeast, a celebration that takes place every Christmas season.

Lovefeasts are a tradition of the Moravian Church, which was founded in the Piedmont Triad in 1753. The celebration is held each year to honor the birth of Jesus. During the lovefeast, participants come together and share lovefeast buns and coffee or tea. Afterward, there is a candlelight service that includes singing and prayers. It is a truly special experience that celebrates the meaning of the holiday season.

The special candlelight lovefeast includes hymns, scripture readings, prayers, and a sermon. Lovefeasts are open to everyone and are a great way to experience the beauty and history of the Moravian Church.  The Piedmont Triad Living calendar includes full details for the local services.
This year, there are lovefeast services in Bethania, Lewisville, High Point, and Winston-Salem, NC.

In High Point, NC Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church is hosting its 49th Annual Lovefeast!

Winston-Salem’s lovefeast are held at the Calvary Moravian Church, Home Moravian Church, and Olivet Moravian Church. This is a great opportunity to experience the Moravian Church in its true form.

In Bethania, the lovefeast will be held at Bethania Moravian Church, and in Lewisville the lovefeast service is at Unity Moravian Church.

Whether you are looking for a special way to celebrate the holiday season or just want to experience a unique tradition, the lovefeasts across the Piedmont Triad are a wonderful way to experience the history and culture of the Moravian Church.
