Creek Week is an annual, week-long initiative that takes place across the country, celebrating the importance and impact of creeks and waterways. Several counties in the Triad have free, family friendly events that are both fun and informative!
Forsyth Creek Week
Forsyth Creek Week includes activities for all ages to help us understand and appreciate the importance of the local waterways. There are many free events that include recreational activities, hands-on learning opportunities, guest speakers, and more. These events are children and family friendly! Activities include bike rides, bird walks, fishing, paddle boarding, segway glides, and more!
There are many "Just For Kids" activities scheduled, such as family fishing fun, a solar car workshop, and an Otter Animal Encounter. Link to all of the kids activities here.
You can find all the details for activities on the Forsyth Creek Week website here. Creek Week 2019 runs March 23-March 31.
Guilford Creek Week
Guilford Creek Week runs the same time period, and includes activities in Greensboro, High Point, and other smaller cities in the county. The Kick Off Party took place on Saturday at Gibson Park in Jamestown, and other events include recreational days and clean up events. Find more information about Guilford Creek Week on their website here.
Alamance Creek Week
Alamance County's Creek Week will run April 6-13, 2019. Activities include Creek Clean-Ups, a hydroponic farm tour, water-themed origami night, story times, and other water-themed activities. See the schedule for Alamance County on their website here.
