B-Town Christmas Cruise-Thru

After a successful Halloween Cruise-Thru, staff are actively planning a Christmas Cruise-Thru. Enjoy a quick drive through holiday decorations, wave to local community organizations, listen to Christmas music and say hey to Santa & Mrs. Claus. Goodie bags will be available for all children present and include something to wear, something to eat, something to craft and more.
Enter the event staging onto Kitchin Street from Mebane Street and you will be directed by staff to enter the Cruise-Thru on Overbrook Drive.
In collaboration with United Way of Alamance County, we are suggesting a donation of one non-perishable item per person in your vehicle to help support our community through the holidays. Food Drive items will be collected at the beginning of the Cruise-Thru.

Greensboro 

 Balloon Regatta

No Holiday Parade this year...but we still have our famous big balloons and local holiday talent!
December 12th and 13th, visitors to the center city will be invited to drive-thru a Balloon Regatta featuring 17 of our most famous big parade balloons and live entertainment, like:
Greensboro Ballet Nutcracker performers
Community Theatre of Greensboro Wizard of Oz actors
Triad Stage A Christmas Carol actors
Disney princesses
Strolling Carolers
and MORE!
The Regatta route will begin at Greensboro Children’s Museum and run down Church Street to the Depot.
Join in the fun and decorate your car in its holiday finest!
THE RULES:
Remain in your car during the parade.
Maintain a speed of no more than 10 miles an hour.
Start the parade anytime between 12:00 and 4:00 on either day.

The Spectacular Holiday Blooms will be lit every night (weather depending) starting November 25, 2020 and continuing through January 6, 2021. In this 2nd year of Holiday Blooms, we’ve doubled the number of lit tulips and added more radiant blooms. Enjoy a stroll through the dazzling wisteria lights, get lost in the illuminated trees along the patio terrace and more surprises as you stroll to the Performance Stage. ZSR Library Special Collections and Archives invites you to join us in celebrating Songs of Wake Forest, the latest book by Dr. Edwin G. Wilson. Ed Wilson’s relationship with Wake Forest, which began when he entered the College as a freshman in 1939, has continued for more than eight decades. Throughout his tenure, he has paid tribute to many in the Wake Forest family whose lives have intersected with his – sometimes speaking on behalf of the University and other times as a personal friend of the family. Songs of Wake Forest celebrates our founding ideals and offers praise for the men and women whose character and contributions shaped the University as we know it today.
On Friday, December 11th, the ZSR Library will be holding a launch party, which will feature readings by Dr. Wilson and his reflections on the creation of this book. Registration is required. We hope you can join us.

Tune-in for a new Salem Band Holiday Concert experience! Salem Band’s Tuba Quartet will present a mix of mostly traditional carols for Christmas and the Saxophone Quartet will perform popular Holiday favorites with percussion. Selections include a medley of “O Come, O Come, Emmanuel, O Little Town of Bethlehem, Go Tell It On the Mountain,” music from the Nutcracker, “Santa Baby,” a Pentatonix arrangement of “Carol of the Bells,” a swinging “Jingle Bells,” and the popular “Morning Star Polka.”
